Mother Earth

All knowing mother Earth
Please answer this prayer
I know that you're in a slumber
But I know you're still there

Clean your shell of evil
And cleanse all of the damned
I can't continue living on you
If this is the path of man

We are stealing and killing
While robbing you blind
I have no faith left in man
We're all one of a kind

We feed, reproduce, destroy
And defile your land
I can't watch it continue
I need your loving hand

Grant me the peace I ask for
In your realm of existence
Just swallow those mean bad
If only for a minute

For that minute will be
The most beautiful minute lived
And all because I cried out for help
And help me you did

The skies would be crystal
The seas would be blue
The animals would rejoice
At their lives renewed

Our cities would be clean
No trash, filth, or sludge
Only leave the ones who deserve it
Each one of us be judged

And if I do not make the cut
I will not curse your name
But I will rejoice in your honesty
And I shall be born again

When that day comes
And I am reborn
I will remember your deed
And those who were forewarned

So grant me this wish
If only this one time
Show your true beauty
And leave out the slime

Untitled

The dawn creeps out of darkness
Like a predator stalking its prey
The luminous eye lays out our paths
Eliminating the unknown and grey

The shadowed woods now show trails
We see now what choices lay ahead
We’re unsure which of these choices to take
“Should we go this way or the other instead?”

Together we walk through the trees
Turning whichever way seems best
We don’t know which destination
We’re choosing over the rest

We’re approaching a new split in the road
Our biased minds stay firm
There is no longer “We”
You chose the other turn

If these paths come back together
Then I will know it was true
Apollo was never guiding me
It was always you

Humble Tranquility

For the role can’t be played without opposition
They read from the script with no disposition
It’s every last character that plays their own part
They sing, dance, and laugh from the start
The jingle hums softly, so youthful and free
Light blinds with a quick flash ever so luminously

The dawn is fresh with blue skies and a breeze
It’s the kind of day that exists in perfect dreams
The characters meet and learn to feel
These new emotions are too vivid to be real
They hold one another and kiss, this is love
As innocent as a pair of cuddling doves

This love starts to grow and the characters are consumed
It seems as if this relationship bud, has finally bloomed
They love freely, care deeply, and hold the other close
The others envy their perfection, but these ones do not boast
Their love is enough reward for this partnership they have earned
The others rage jealously over this feeling they have not learned

They try to start fights because of their bitterness within
“Who wants to be in love anyway? Embrace the life of sin.”
Unable to be broken, our front couple prevails
With compassion so heavy, it’s tipping the scales
Gleaming with happiness, they separate from the herd
They stand there, admirably, as the man says these words:

“The happiness we hold dearly and can’t live without
Finds its sworn enemies in sadness and doubt
We must find our own way on this journey called life
It’s each person’s choice if its covered in dark or sprayed in light
These paths intertwine and are never out of sight
Whichever you may choose, be certain it’s worth the fight
For each day shouldn’t be a battle to stay on your course
Just accept our short days for they are no better or worse”

The characters and the audience stare silent and dazed
The couple exits as everyone sits quietly amazed
The curtain closes, leaving the hall dark
A spotlight illuminates the couples and the crowd starts to bark
It was no ordinary play with an inspirational theme
This was the show of a king, laced with our dreams

The performance is over, but the story’s not done
It continues everyday and the battle’s never won
Our days are filled with too much regret and doubt
We tend to lose sight of what life is about
Happiness, love, success, fun, and wealth
Can only be earned by playing the hand we are dealt

Untitled

You are my gift
You are my curse
You are the words
In every verse

You give me hope
You make me pissed
These memories we have
Will be reminisced

Be there when I fall
Or leave it all now
I’ll make it once you’re gone
I’m not sure how

Just don’t hate me
For the wrong I’ve done
I didn’t mean to hurt you
It was only for fun

None of it felt like what we had
None it was worth it
You made me happy
You gave me purpose

Where is that love now
Why did it go away
It’s all my fault
From one mistake

Don’t cry now
It’s only one simple word
I’ll say goodbye
And hope it’s not heard

I don’t mean it
Yet I truly do
I’m afraid of what
I’ll do without you

Take your time when you leave
Make sure to move slow
Once you’re gone
It’s lights out for this show

You never should’ve left
You shouldn’t leave me down
Because I’m nothing
Without you around

Final Bow

Step up to speak
So your voice can be heard
See the many people
Who want to hear yours words

Step up and play
The scharade they've come to see
You are their jester
Now entertain them for their relief

Step up and dance
For everyone loves a ball
Make your moves carefully
Make sure you do not fall

Step up and cry
For those who feel down and gloom
No happiness can exist
Not even a flower may bloom

Step up and sit down
Yes, play the game that they control
You give only what they want
Then go back to your hole
But before you leave
You hear the chanting crowd
They've enjoyed the performance
Now take your bow

They do not know your name
Nor about your thoughts and cares
They only see their entertainment
Coming out through your nightmares

This is your hell
At least you think it true
They are only your fans
Who do not care about you

Then the stage light dies
And you are alone
The crowd who just loved you
Has gone to their homes

The darkness is quiet
And pure, oh so dim
Goodnight my stage masters
I shall see you again

But just this one time
Before I retire inside
I'll bow again for no one
As I begin to cry
My fans are gone
And no one is here
These still quiet seats
They do not cheer
Where are my friends
They left me alone now
The show is over
This was my final bow
